About Humanities Core
Humanities Core is a course the combines ones writing requirements and other general education requirements in two classes taken every quarter for one whole year. This year in Humanities we will be focusing on the subject of war. During fall quarter of 2015 we will have read The Iliad by Homer translated by Robert Fagles, Memorial: A Version of Homer's Iliad by Oswald, Alice ,The Adventures of Simplicius Simplicissimus by von Grimmelshausen Hans Jacob Christoffel translated by George Schulz-Behrend, The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli translated by William J. Connell and The Art Of War by Sun Tzu translated by Lionel Giles.
We will also be using the Humanities Core Course Guide and Reader and Humanities Core Writer's Handbook to supplement our readings.

The Purpose of This Blog
Hello I am Abby C. I am currently attend University Of California, Irvine and taking Humanities Core for the fall quarter.This blog is a place where I can express my knowledge and opinions on the topics and books covered in this class.
